The Underground History of American Education

Price per Unit (piece): $34.00

The Underground History of American Education: A Schoolteacher's Intimate Investigation into the Problem of Modern Schooling, by John Taylor Gatto. Gatto climaxed his public-school teaching career as New York State Teacher of the Year after being named New York City Teacher of the Year on three occasions. While still the New York State Teacher of the Year, Gatto quit teaching claiming that he was no longer willing to hurt children by working within the public school system. This book is proving to significantly shake up both the public-school education establishment/monopoly and large numbers of Americans who were students and thus “products” of the public-school system.
